2019 Work Samples

This section gives an idea of the kind of work I make every day on my own time. These works vary in focus and intent. Some are related to ongoing processing, self-exploration, and finding sustainable self-preservation. Others expand on my interest in pop culture and geographic specificity. Still others revel in the sheer wonder of my dogs. I work on something for myself almost every day, and I use this practice to balance the intensity of large-scale, long-term projects, and to reset after working my day job. Maintaining a sense of fun and challenge is important to me. Whether it’s painting on a larger scale than I am used to or making detailed hand-embroidered patches, I switch my media to keep my ideas and attention fresh and balanced. No matter the media, my attention to the quality and refinement of my craft stays consistent. I prioritize making things that bring me joy, and that translates to the work bringing many others joy, too.
